The Weekend That Was

Last weekend was a bit hectic. There was one major event and some snapshots of what we did these 2 days..hah
Well, the major event turns out to be my friend's wedding. See he even deco his own car, hehehe... Everything was nicely planned, and everything was in place...

..when suddenly as it turns out, there were no electricity at the church. What a pity! After an hour scuffling here and there someone was very generous enough to bring in a portable DIESEL generator! Talk about plan B...

Anyway, everyone was happy in the end and they were safely married! Sometimes something that seems small and insignificant really comes in handy, even though this one were really noisy! Heheh..
So to celebrate we had a badminton match!

Heh just kidding- but we do have badminton every sunday, sure keeps you on your feet and sharpen your reflexes..

It's a Tidy Mess

Welcome to my work desk.. See all the papers strewn about? I don't know why, but sometimes that's the way I organised my paperwork. Other things I'm pretty neat, but when it comes to papers- it's a different story.. guess this will be my next year resolution hehe
You see, when i kept the important papers away then it's a case of 'out of sight, out of mind'. I can forgot about it for days because my mind process a lot of thoughts at one time. Need to upgrade my thinking process- how about a duo core? Heh- we already have our brain in 2 halves, so it's considered duo core...
Then it must be the RAM...

Yesterday...

Yesterday had a meeting at our client's place. I thought I was late, only to find everyone busy munching away on the "mee hun" and slurping up sips of tea. So the meeting turns out to be quite 'full feeling' in a Malaysian sort of style, heheh...

Xbox 360 Survives Car Wreck

Well what do you know...

An Xbox 360, along with controllers, games and a remote control were thrown from the vehicle and run over.
A user over on the Xbox
forums is reporting an amazing story of survival. On Monday, 'Zikronix' was involved in a serious accident. His truck rolled three or four times. When the accident occured, his Xbox 360, which had been sitting on one of the seats along with all his games and accessories, was thrown from the vehicle. Upon crawling from the wreck relatively unharmed, 'Zikronix' saw his beloved 360 and all his gear strewn along the road.
"I walked over and picked up the 360. Face plate not to be found. 360 had a tire mark on it. It had been run over. Saints Row and Prey might be salvagable. One of the metal supports on the side was bent. And when I picked it up the case fell off. I straightened the metal side and put the case back together and turned it on. It fired up and went to the dash. I popped in a game and it read. Played for a little bit then watched a dvd. This is really a testament to the 360. Granted it won't hold faceplates any more and it's got a tire mark on it. It also has a chip missing from the chrome bezel. But it works. On a side note I walked away with a bruised elbow."
So the new xbox is a real tough box indeed-seriously heh...

Masamune details

Here's a few more pics of the masamune...

Swords and more swords

* Disclaimer* This blog writer is very much against all form of violence. Any review of swords and other weapons in this blog are purely an appreciation of the weapon's intricate design, art and technical beauty.

I like swords. Yes I do, hehehe... I don't know how I got hooked to swords, but when I studied some swordfighting techniques, it really got me interested. As it is, it is very interesting to see two fighters fight with swords (it really influences my approach in playing badminton, funny huh? ) while incorporating various evasive maneuvers. .
So today, we'll appreaciate the beauty of the 'masamune'. Its sheer length alone is more than 6 feet and really requires one with very experienced and dexterous hand and body to wield it.

Sword Profile:

Blade material: 420 J2 stainless steel
Overall Length: 73.82 in (1875.00 mm) * almost 2 metres man!!*
Blade Length: 60.24 in (1530 mm)
Blade Thickness: 0.43 in (11.00 mm)
Handle Length: 13.59 in (345.00 mm)
Tsuba Length and Width: 4.53 in x 2.64 in ( 115 mm x 67 mm)
Tsuba Thickness: 0.59 in (15mm)
Total weight: 16.00 lbs (7.26 Kgs)

Really impressive...

The wickedness of man

Today's news is very shocking and gruesome indeed. A mongolian model was shot and blown to bits..
KUALA LUMPUR: Police have picked up a prominent political analyst attached with a politically well-connected think-tank for questioning over the gruesome murder of a Mongolian model whose body was blown to bits.
Wickedness seems to be manifesting itself at a faster rate year in Malaysia, not to mention the political turmoil between the ex prime minister and the prime minister. I won't be surprised if the Malaysian government will be split into two rival faction. Nevertheless, back to the murder news, God has said
Exodus 20:13 Thou shalt not kill.
Matt 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
But man rebelled against God,
Romans
3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
3:11 There is none that understandeth,
there is none that seeketh after God.
3:12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
3:13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:
3:14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:
3:15 Their feet are swift to shed blood:
3:16 Destruction and misery are in their ways:
3:17 And the way of peace have they not known:
3:18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.
Such is man's wickedness..

This Sluggish Morning..

Morning,...yes I know it's almost noon, but I still prefer to see it as morning, cos I'm still feeling the side effects of yesterday's badminton. That's right, badminton....Been playing for almost 3 years now, and there's some improvement on my side. Heheh- I better recover as today there will be another session with a friend..
Anyway, today's game review was a bit disappointing, but Im not really into strategy games anyway. Check it out here http://www.actiontrip.com/reviews/caesar4.phtml
My recording work were a bit disrupted yesterday as my software/ hardware cough up some minor glitches. Hmm... hopefully by God's grace will be able to fix it today. I need to catch up on my schedule.

Illegal forest fires blanket Indonesia and neighbors

Tuesday, October 03, 2006

Smoke and ash from land-clearing fires in Indonesia blanketed a large swath of Indonesia's west Monday, sending air quality levels plummeting there and in neighboring Singapore and Malaysia.
The smoke was shrouding an estimated 556,000 square kilometers of land on Sumatra and across Indonesian Borneo.
Fires from land-clearing activities in Sumatra and Borneo, and to a lesser extent Malaysia, have occurred almost every dry season since the late 1990s. They are typically set by people looking for a cheap way to clear brush for plantations.
In Palangkaraya, on Kalimantan on the Indonesian side of Borneo island, many people were wearing face masks, residents there said. Flights in and out of airports were delayed Monday.
Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has vowed to crack down on landowners who set fires illegally, but inefficient and corrupt local authorities are apparently unable or unwilling to stamp out the problem. ASSOCIATED PRESS

No wonder it's so hazy here in Miri, hah....

Word of the Day

" John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

This verse were being reminded to me today as I was driving to the office..Thank God I was reminded, since I was really asking God for HIS life to be fused into mine...Know what? These last few weeks I really gave up control over what I used to do which is destructive, especially my temper. So many people have been hurt by my bad temper that I REALLY want to get rid of it.. Thank God He showed me how. So now I'm winning the battle of keeping the love and peace that He has given me.
One of the secret to overcome anger and bad temper as commanded by the Lord is to submit to God, make peace with anyone whom you have hurt by your anger, command the spirit of anger to go and leave you (confessing it verbally) in Jesus Name and finally asking God to replace the anger with His love and joy and patience.
It is a tough battle but really worth the effort. Those with anger problems knows how much misery they are in and much hurt that were done to those closest to them... I know how it feels, which is why I will not allow anger to stay within me ANYMORE. It is finished!.. It is done with..Heheh

Clouds Roll By And I Roll With Them

A dazzling effect of the sun bursting through the clouds yesterday..

Tuesday, September 19, 2006

Today feels so blue... And my heart is somewhere on the horizon, remembering someone.
Speaking of which, it's pretty scary if anyone were to board one of these-

I haven't update this blog for quite some time- very busy. But I'll get to it once things are settled down.
Signing out-:)

Thursday, September 07, 2006

Been a bit busy these few weeks, with a tight schedule on recording works, youth ministry and other personal things. Tomorrow and saturday night there will be a Festival of Praise organised by Daerah Youth, so I will have a good time off from tonight until saturday night since there will be no youth and teenagers bible study.

I am interested in seeing how the attendace for the event turn out, as the previous Hari Belia Sedunia last saturday have experienced quite a mild response. The spiritual season is quite different now than the last decade, but yet most youth leaders often failed to discern the times and season. Good thing for me, I'll be out of the spotlight, heh...

Favourite Drink For 2006

"Teh C Peng Special!!!"

How did I start to like it? Well it happen one Sunday afternoon...

The Power of the Cross

One who becomes a follower of Jesus bears the marks of the cross. I am a christian and I believe in Jesus as the only One who can save my soul from hell. By believing in Him I too have made Him my Lord and King, even though I fail many times to please Him...

It is imperative that every christian know the power that God has GIVEN to every one who believes in His Son Jesus. This power is the key of it all and is the CORE, the HEART of the Christian faith. This God given power is meant for every man and women on this planet and no one is turned away. Those who choose not to believe in Jesus will certainly end up in eternal damnation in hell... Sad to say, isn't it? The quest of a christian is certainly not to win people over to another religion, but to HELP SAVE people from going to hell. Being a christian means receiving the gift of eternal life from God, even after physical death.

JESUS CAN SAVE YOU
This power can be seen from Jesus's own words..
LK 4:18
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
You who are poor! Take note because Jesus is looking for you... Those who are poor are the first on His agenda.
Questions for us all to ponder; Why would Jesus preach to the poor instead of helping them with more money or a better job? We'll come back to his later...

Silver teardrops falling

It's raining... Reminds me lots of past adventures and experiences in the rain. Such an impact on my soul, for rain can make you remember a lot of things. There are far more adventures in the bright sunny sun, but the rain softens you deep inside. Memories are reflected on each drop, a piece of our lifetime, pleasant or unpleasant, looking back at us. Once again, our memories are refreshed, makes us ponder about the days that has gone by..

Images and Words

I like poems. Especially well written ones that are meaningful and thought provoking. Here's one that I wrote back in 2004..

Eyes of My Heart, Voice of My Mind

Thoughts remain unspoken, swirling in the sea of hope,
Breaking against the shores
Of reason and doubt.
A hope that should never exists,
Making its tide known.
A surge of strong emotions,
Struggling to speak out.
How did this soul flap this way?
What gives her the beauty unseen?
Charm and beauty are only temporary,
But a glimpse of the heart evokes admiration,
For the affection within pulls strongly
From the gaze of the eyes to words spoken
Without persuasion, action without seduction.
Only a selfless and childlike innocence,
Courage, and love will soon find its door.
Soon, the yearning affection will finally be spoken.

Wash and Wax..It's labeled on the bottle..

It's a bit hot today in Miri. Not too hot anyway...
Last night I managed to wash the car- it has been months since the faithful Wira get a decent bath, heh! Dust clings on it on every sides, layering it with microscopic dirt and dust particles-blocking its metallic look.. I'm not really into cars but I do take care of what I have, considering it's a blessing indeed.

Welcome to my blog!
You can say this is my 2nd venture in the web after being content for years and years in the established realm of emails.. You can say I'm a latecomer or whatever terms you like to specify. But to me it's fine- life goes on by the second and with this humble blog, you can say that I intend to capture the specific moment when my heart are perceiving something... be it something to learn, to share, to cherish and especially to understand...
There is so much lack of understanding in this world that we live in... One of life's mission is to find that understanding in every situation that we face in life, an honorable quest indeed.
Let these words now be written and welcome again to a glimpse of my mind and heart..
